Dear Friend,
Liberal groups like the ACLU and People for the American Way (PFAW) have launched a massive assault on Christmas, or any reference to religion in the public square. The anti-American United Nations has been relentless in its quest to impose global taxes on American citizens like you and me! Leftist Washington politicians may be up their old antics, colluding with special interest groups to deny Judge Samuel Alito, President Bush's nominee to be the next Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, a fair up-or-down vote on his confirmation in the Senate. Senator John McCain has teamed up with Ted Kennedy to introduce legislation that would grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. And, Senator McCain's so-called torture amendment could hinder the U.S. intelligence community's efforts to thwart further terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and abroad. These and other threats to our individual freedom and economic liberty are ever-increasing and come in many forms. But, the Center for Individual Freedom is standing with you on the front lines in dozens of important battles. That is why I am personally writing you today. I want to thank you for your hard work this year in responding to our "calls to action." It goes without saying that CFIF's success depends solely on your commitment, and that of thousands of other concerned Americans, to continue to engage in the ongoing fight for freedom. And I am happy to report that together we are making real progress. This week, CFIF launched its End of Year Fundraising Drive. As a not-for-profit organization, we rely on the generous support of individuals like you to be successful on the many issues in which we engage. Unlike many well-funded liberal organizations, we take NO money from the government. That is why I am hoping I can count on you to make a secure online contribution of $15, $25, $50 or even $100 or $250 today to help CFIF meet its end of year fundraising goals. Use the hyperlink below to make a secure online donation today. Thanks to you, CFIF has had a banner year! • We've reached over two million Americans, arming them with the information necessary to speak out against the UN's attempt to impose global taxes on American citizens. In response, more than 350,000 concerned Americans signed a petition, made phone calls and wrote letters to politicians in Washington expressing their outrage. As a result, the U.S. House of Representatives PASSED an amendment to help PREVENT THE UN FROM DIRECTLY TAXING AMERICAN CITIZENS. • When the UN tried to take control of the Internet, CFIF activists rallied to defeat its proposal. And, CFIF activists achieved a major VICTORY when the House passed the U.N. Reform Act in June, which called for withholding half of U.S. taxpayer dues unless the United Nations fulfilled all of 46 demands for reform. But make no mistake, despite these victories, the UN, under Secretary General Kofi Annan's leadership, will continue its drive for global taxes on everything from the Internet to the gas we put in our vehicles. • In addition, this year, thousands of CFIF supporters rallied to urge their elected representatives in Washington to end the obstruction and allow fair up-or-down votes on President Bush's judicial nominees. And while our efforts fell short of ending the practice of filibustering judicial nominees once and for all, we were able to get many rule-of-law, constitutionalist judges confirmed, including Chief Justice John Roberts. Now, liberal Senators like Ted Kennedy, Charles Schumer, and Barbara Boxer are digging in their heels to find a way to deny a fair up-or-down vote on Judge Samuel Alito's confirmation to the Supreme Court. OTHER CFIF VICTORIES • When the Supreme Court ruled it was okay for local and state governments to seize your farm, your church or even your home to hand over to private developers in an effort to fill their already bloated tax coffers, CFIF activists went to work. As a result of your phone calls and letters to politicians in Washington, we were able to secure House passage of The Private Property Rights Protection Act of 2005 (H.R. 4128). This legislation would withhold federal taxpayer dollars from state and local governments that use eminent domain to seize private property for the purposes of "economic development." We now need to put the same heat on the U.S. Senate to pass this vital legislation without delay. • CFIF activists like you were vital in helping to secure passage of the Class Action Reform Act, which will help stop frivolous lawsuits filed by greedy trial lawyers. Despite these successes and many others, there is a lot of work to do in 2006... We need Congress to pass real immigration reform – reform that does NOT include amnesty for the more than 11 MILLION people who broke our laws and are living and working in this country illegally! We need to fight in court and in the media against liberal forces who are trying to permanently remove the words "Under God" from our Pledge of Allegiance – these are the same radical folks who are currently opposed to displaying Christmas Trees on public property. We need Congress to permanently repeal the death tax. The list goes on and on. Simply put, we must continue to fight. That is why CFIF desperately needs your support. CFIF relies solely on the generous support of individuals like you to continue its vital work. And with so many important battles ahead of us, I know I can count on you to make a secure online donation today. Use the hyperlink below to make a secure online donation today. Every day I hear from activists across the country who give CFIF the motivation to continue the fight for individual freedom and honest government. Here is what some of them are saying... “Thank you CFIF for being there for all of us who would not have a voice if you weren't leading the charge on so many issues that everyday American citizens are concerned about most.” -- P.I., Michigan “Thank God for the Center for Individual Freedom, an organization that enables concerned Americans like me to stand up for what we believe in.” -- R.W., Florida “Thank you for the work you do. Most Americans see what is happening but don't know or don't care what is really at stake. We HAVE to take back AMERICA!! And you are empowering us to do just that.” -- B.R., New York CFIF, unlike so many other organizations, is truly an organization made up of tens of thousands of concerned Americans like you. I hope you will continue to support our vital efforts by joining other CFIF activists in making a secure online contribution to our End of Year fundraising drive today. Our goal is to raise $50,000 online in the next two weeks. I know it's a bold goal.
