And because President Bush boldly nominated John Bolton to be U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. -- weÕre closer than ever to bringing some American common sense and much-needed reality to the United Nations.

This is the same John Bolton -- by the way -- who said that if the U.N. Òlost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference."

ThatÕs the kind of straight shooting we need at the U.N.  Someone who will tell it like it is -- stand up to the anti-American forces at the U.N. and fight for U.S. interests.

But now liberal Senators -- backed by a special interest-funded multi-million dollar smear campaign -- are threatening to do whatever it takes to block BoltonÕs confirmation. There has even been some talk that they will filibuster BoltonÕs confirmation.

Sound familiar?

ThatÕs right, Senate liberals have once again enlisted the help of their special interest friends to obstruct another one of President BushÕs nominees.  They are now expanding the same obstruction campaign employed against the PresidentÕs judicial nominees in an attempt to block John BoltonÕs confirmation as Ambassador to the U.N.

And, they have even forced some Senate RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) to question BoltonÕs qualifications.

The Senate is already holding hearings on BoltonÕs nomination, and a vote on BoltonÕs confirmation could be held any day now. That is why I desperately need your help today to ensure that this well-qualified choice to represent AmericaÕs interests at the U.N. has the votes to be confirmed.

WHO IS JOHN BOLTON?

Former Senator Jesse Helms once called John Bolton Òthe kind of man with whom I would want to stand at Armageddon, if it should be my lot to be on hand for what is forecast to be the final battle between good and evil in this world.Ó

ThatÕs the type of man John Bolton is -- someone with strength of character -- and itÕs just what America needs at the U.N.

In fact, the word on Capitol Hill is that U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan actually gasped when he was told that President Bush was naming Bolton Ambassador to the U.N.  ThatÕs because Annan knows that Bolton wonÕt put up with the corruption and anti-Americanism that defines the U.N. today.

Let me share with you just a few of BoltonÕs choice quotes about the U.N.

"There is no such thing as the United Nations."

Or how about this one: 

"The [U.N.] Secretariat building in New York has 38 stories. If it lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference."

This next one is my favorite:

"I don't do carrots."

Bolton made that comment after being asked if the United States should take a carrot and stick approach to North Korea.

The liberal left believes these comments should disqualify Bolton from serving, but -- I am sure you will agree -- these comments plainly indicate that John Bolton is just the right man for the job!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH JOHN BOLTON?

I will be frank -- the hard truth is that John Bolton will expose what really goes on in the Òback roomsÓ of the U.N.

John Bolton will go to the U.N. and speak loud and clear about the organization's failings, corruption and mismanagement.

He will represent America's interests at the U.N., not kowtow to foreign diplomats, petty tyrants and Third World thugs.

That's why proponents of the U.N.Õs radical socialist agenda like Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and others oppose BoltonÕs nomination.

You see -- they want a U.S. ambassador who will go along with the Òinterests and agendaÓ of the U.N. and sit quietly by while other nations steal our sovereignty and drag the United States further into the dangerous web of Òglobalization.Ó

As you read this letter, these liberal Senators are working feverishly with radical liberal groups to sink BoltonÕs confirmation.

THE LIBERALS ARE REALLY OUT OF TOUCH

Strangely... Bolton's critics view his comments as a negative, and this sentiment shows that they are truly out of touch.

When you consider that -- according to a recent Rasmussen poll -- the approval rating for the United Nations stands at 37 percent, and when you consider that the U.N.Õs response to the corruption of the Oil for Food program and sex scandal in the Congo was to try to hide the truth; most people will agree that Bolton's appointment is a breath of fresh air.

We all know that the U.N. is no friend of America.

But Bolton is as tough as his critics fear and as realistic as he seems.

Bolton sees the world as it is rather than what he might wish it to be, and he deals unflinchingly with that reality.

He's succeeded in every job he's ever held and has done so without sacrificing either his principles or the interests of those he has served.

He is -- above all -- a truth teller!

That is why Annan gasped when informed of BoltonÕs appointment, and that is exactly why Bolton is the right man for the job.  He will stand up for America.
