Before becoming President Calvin Coolidge's vice president in 1925, Charles G. Dawes was a banker who, in 1911, composed "Melody in A-Major." Lyrics were added in 1951 by songwriter Carl Sigman, who changed the name of the melody to "It's All in the Game." The song made Number One Single on the Billboard Hot 100 in September, 1958. Many a tear (of joy) had to fall when the 1925 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Vice President Dawes for his plan to resolve Germany's debts following World War I.
