Help
End the Partisan Blockade Against President Bush's Judicial Nominees:
Liberals Target Miguel Estrada
The
federal judiciary is mired in a crisis. Dockets are overloaded
and longstanding vacancies at district and circuit court levels
are going unfilled. Yet, rather than acting swiftly to fulfill their
constitutional responsibility to the judicial confirmation process,
Senate Democrats, led by Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Patrick Leahy
(D-VT), are employing "all means necessary" to obstruct and delay
the confirmation of many of President George W. Bush's judicial
nominees.
Schumer
and Leahy's obstructionist tactics are now being leveled against
Miguel Estrada, a nominee to fill a vacancy on the D.C. Circuit
Court of Appeals.
