CFIF Joins Coalition of Free-Market and Grassroots Groups Urging "No New Internet Regulations"
ALEXANDRIA, VA The Center for Individual Freedom this week joined 26 other free-market, limited government and faith-based grassroots organizations making up the Internet Freedom Coalition on a full-page ad in the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call. The ad urges Congress to oppose new regulations of the Internet under the guise of "network neutrality."
"America's technological preeminence is threatened by those who want the government to move in and regulate what entrepreneurs, investors, and visionaries have created," the ad reads. "We oppose network neutrality and any other form of regulation or taxation of the Internet. And we're ready...to fight to keep the Internet free," the ad continues.
The Internet Freedom Coalition is a loose-knit group of like-minded free-market, limited government non-profit associations, individuals and think-tanks that believe the Internet should not be taxed, regulated, or subjected to United Nations' bureaucratic controls. In addition to CFIF, its members include The Institute for Liberty, Americans for Tax Reform, Americans for Prosperity and National Taxpayers Union, among other prominent state and national organizations.
