The
Center Joins Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory
Committee
The
Center has recently joined forces with a collection of IT industry
groups, non-profit associations and public interest groups as a
part of the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee. The
Advisory Committees mission is to educate Congress and the
public about important Internet-related policy issues.
The
Congressional chairs of the Internet Caucus, which is made up of
a bi-partisan group of over 150 members of the House and Senate,
are Representatives Bob Goodlatte
(R-VA)
and Rick Boucher (D-VA) and Senators Conrad Burns (R-MT) and Patrick
Leahy (D-VT).
As
a member of the caucus' advisory committee, the Center will argue
against over-burdensome Congressional legislation that would hamper
continued advancements in e-commerce. At the same time, the Center
will address issues such as consumer privacy and intellectual property
concerns in the new digital economy.
