CFIF Names Marshall Manson Vice President of Public Affairs

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Center for Individual Freedom today is pleased to announce the hiring of Marshall Manson as Vice President of Public Affairs.

Manson’s responsibilities will include the strategic planning and execution of advocacy campaigns focused on state and federal legislation in keeping with the Center’s mission — to protect individual freedom and individual rights in the legal, legislative and educational arenas. In addition, Manson will play a key role in advancing development and communications strategies of the organization.

"Marshall’s extensive experience in communications and public affairs will go a long way in ensuring the Center’s continued growth and success," said Jeffrey Mazzella, the Center’s Executive Director.

The Center works on a broad number of issues including judicial confirmations, legal reform, taxation, education, energy and technology, among others.

"The vital issues on which the Center focuses and the cause of individual freedom that underlies all of its activities have long been important to me," said Manson. "From constitutional protection to economic liberty, the Center deals with many issues that touch the lives of all Americans."

Prior to joining the Center, Manson was a Vice President of the Sterling Corporation, a national public affairs, public relations and political consulting firm. During his tenure at Sterling, Manson developed and implemented communications and public affairs strategies for corporate, non-profit and political clients. Manson also headed the firm’s print materials practice where he created countless direct mail pieces, brochures and reports. His print and electronic media products have been recognized with Communicator and Pollie Awards, and his work has been featured in national publications.

Prior to his work at the Sterling Corporation, Manson was an Account Executive for a major national media consulting firm in Alexandria, Virginia. He has also managed political campaigns at the state and congressional levels.

Manson received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College. He lives in Fairfax with his wife, Stephanie, and their beagle, Cody.
