General Counsel to Become Regular Host of Talk Radio Show Your
Turn
"An informed public is the best protection of liberty,"
says General Counsel Renee Giachino.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. The Center for Individual Freedom today
announced that its General Counsel and Senior Vice President, Renee
Giachino, will be a regular host on "Your Turn," a listener
call-in, public affairs talk radio show aired weekdays from 4 pm to
6 pm CST on 1330 AM WEBY in Northwest Florida.
"Too
much public discourse these days revolves around what is or is not
politically correct and socially acceptable," said Giachino.
"Unfortunately, we too often allow government action at the
expense of freedom and liberty.
"My
goal is to encourage discussion about todays issues, with
a keen interest in debating the proper role of government vis-à-vis
our individual rights," Giachino added. "The Center for
Individual Freedom has worked hard for years in the legislative,
judicial and educational arenas to represent the voice of the Constitution.
We are exited about the opportunity to continue the debates and
expand our efforts over the airwaves."
After
Ms. Giachinos debut show, which airs today, she will be a
regular host every other Tuesday leading thoughtful, dynamic discussions
of legal and public policy issues, with a focus on preserving individual
freedom and defending the Constitution.
"It
is vitally important for the cause of freedom to educate and empower
all Americans to defend their liberty wherever and whenever it is
threatened," said Jeffrey Mazzella, the Centers Executive
Director. "Raising awareness about threats to our individual
freedom and rights, whether those threats are legislative or regulatory
in scope or through activist judicial decisions from our state and
federal courts, is necessary in preventing government from chipping
away at our liberty.
"We
are thrilled that Your Turn will enable the Center to
expand its fight for freedom," Mazzella concluded.
The
Center for Individual Freedom (www.cfif.org)
is a not-for-profit, non-partisan constitutional advocacy group
that fights to protect individual freedoms and individual rights
in the legal, legislative and educational arenas.
