So-Called "Railway Safety Act" Constitutes a Political Handout to Big Labor That Does Nothing to Improve Safety At All

America as we know it was built largely upon and because of our rail industry, and today it remains a pillar of our economy.

Unfortunately, a destructive proposal before Congress misleadingly named the "Railway Safety Act" (RSA), part of broader surface transportation reauthorization, threatens great harm to our railroads.

Simply put, the bill has nothing to do with improving safety, but has a lot to do with advancing the political agenda of Big Labor.  At a moment when inflation burdens American families and fragile supply chains remain vulnerable to disruption, the last thing our economy or rail sector need is another costly federal mandate imposed upon one of the nation’s most important transportation sectors.

As an initial matter, as noted by The Wall Street Journal, the…[more]

On When the FB Knew About Hunter Biden’s Nearly $120 Million Ukrainian Deal While Joe Biden Was VP:

"The FBI learned as far back as 2016 that Hunter Biden and his partners had plotted to set up a new venture in tax-friendly Liechtenstein that would be capitalized by a whopping $120 million investment from the controversial owner of the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings, according to documents obtained by Just the News that have been kept from the American public for eight years.

"The mega-deal was not referenced inside Hunter Biden's now infamous laptop or during the 2019 impeachment proceedings involving Ukraine, but was instead chronicled in a trove of 3.39 million documents the FBI seized from Hunter Biden and his business partners during an investigation of securities fraud nearly a decade ago."

On Bidenomics and Inflation:

"'History is largely a history of inflation,' Nobel-winning economist Friedrich Von Hayek wrote in 1960, 'usually inflations engineered by governments for the gain of government.'

Today, these words are truer than ever. During the almost four years we've lived with 'Bidenomics,' consumers have seen the cost of ordinary purchases increase by more than 15 percent due to inflation. That's an additional expense of $9,000 per year for the average household.

Reflecting on the past can often be illuminating. During the four years of the Trump administration, the Consumer Price Index saw a meager 1 percent increase. Critics may argue that the deflationary impact of COVID skews this figure, but even excluding it, the overall price level would have only risen by about 2.5 percent. What's the key difference? The answer is one word -- 'government!'"

Reporting on the Rising Theft of Electric Vehicle Charging Station Cables:

"Just before 2 a.m. on a chilly April night in Seattle, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup stopped at an electric vehicle charging station on the edge of a shopping center parking lot.

Two men, one with a light strapped to his head, got out. A security camera recorded them pulling out bolt cutters. One man snipped several charging cables; the other loaded them into the truck. In under 21/2 minutes, they were gone.

The scene that night has become part of a troubling pattern across the country: Thieves have been targeting EV charging stations, intent on stealing the cables, which contain copper wiring. The price of copper is near a record high on global markets, which means criminals stand to collect rising sums of cash from selling the material."

On the Federal Deficit:

"For a fifth year in a row and just eight months into fiscal 2024, the federal deficit has blown past the $1 trillion mark. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office concedes that not only will this year's deficit outpace last year's, but it will also supersede the CBO's own previous projection. As usual, the crisis isn't caused by insufficient tax revenue, which actually rose by 10% from the same period in fiscal 2023. Rather, Uncle Sam continues to dole out too much in mandatory spending, which in turn triggers inflation, which in turn triggers cost-of-living adjustments in that mandatory spending, which in turn jacks up interest rates on the national debt."

:On Democrat's Claims to Being 'Defenders of Democracy':

"In 2024, the greatest test for our Constitution may be whether it can survive the 'Defenders of Democracy.'

"Ronald Reagan often said, 'The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.' Today, Reagan's line cannot compare with the line that sends many of us into a fetal position: 'I'm a Democrat and I am here to save democracy.'

"The jump scare claim is that unless citizens vote for us, the end of democracy will begin shortly. In 2022, House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told 'Fox News Sunday' that 'democracy will be ending' if Democrats lost the midterms.

"The rhetoric has continued to ramp up with the upcoming election."

On President Biden's Executive Order to Restrict Asylum Seekers at the Southern Border:

"President Joe Biden's executive order was allegedly supposed to shut down the southern border at midnight Tuesday, but after a full day of crossings it is now obvious that nothing has changed on the ground.

'I'm lost. Even the higher-ups don't know what to do fully yet,' one Border Patrol agent told the Washington Examiner.

In Jacumba, California, Bill Melugin of Fox News reports that 12 full hours after Biden's order allegedly went into effect, 'mass illegal' crossings of Colombian and Venezuelans were still taking place."

On the Impact of President Biden's Economy on Small Businesses:

"A large portion of small business owners are concerned about their future amid wider financial stress under President Joe Biden, according to a new poll from the Job Creators Network Foundation (JCNF) obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

"Around 67% of small business owners were worried that current economic conditions could force them to close their doors, ten percentage points higher than just two years ago, according to the JCNF's monthly small business poll. Respondents' perceptions of economic conditions for their own businesses fell slightly in the month, from 70.2 to 68.1 points, with 100 points being the best possible business conditions, while perceptions of national conditions increased from 50.4 to 53.2 points."

On the Rapid Advancement of Iran's Nuclear Weapons Program:

"The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) issued a gloomy report last week about the rapid advancement Iran has made in its nuclear weapon program. Iran's progress directly results from the Biden administration's foreign policy failures.

"According to the IAEA's May report, Iran's overall stockpile of enriched uranium increased by 1,489.8 pounds since the agency's last report in February. The nation now has 13,671.5 pounds of enriched uranium, exceeding the 661 pounds stockpile limit that Iran had agreed to in the 2015 nuclear deal. What's also shocking is that Iran's stockpile includes 313.2 pounds of uranium enriched up to 60 percent. ...

"The IAEA'se latest report shows that the Obama/Biden team's faith in curtailing Iran's nuclear ambition through diplomatic negotiation is misplaced because Iran has no interest in abiding by any international agreement. It also shows that Iran is well on its way to developing nuclear weapons, probably sooner rather than later."

On Preisdent Joe Biden’s Presence at Hunter Biden's Trial:

"The president flew into Wilmington, Del., on Sunday night, where his 54-year-old son's felony gun trial begins Monday, and will spend the whole day there with no official duties.

"Joe Biden's looming presence in the strange small city leaves nobody in any doubt of the message he is sending to Delaware special counsel David Weiss, to the prosecutors, the judge, and the jury pool being chosen Monday. You mess with my son; you mess with me.

"It's all very subtle, in a flagrant way, much like Joe's impromptu visit to Hallie Biden, the widow of Beau and former lover of Hunter, just nine days before his son's trial, at which she is the star witness for the prosecution."

On the Left's Legal Pursuit of President Trump:

"In one of the darkest hours in American history, after an ex-president for the first time was convicted in criminal court, Alvin Bragg could only smile and banter with laughing reporters. 'I did my job,' the Manhattan district attorney declared to a breezy, whimsical news conference that belied the gravity of having just secured 34 felony convictions that could send Donald Trump to prison for life.

"That job was not begun by Bragg, though he campaigned successfully to be New York City's chief prosecutor with a bold promise he could be the guy that finally held Donald Trump accountable.

"That job actually began with Hillary Clinton back in the spring of 2016 when her team of lawyers, opposition research hitmen and one ex-British spy concocted a now-laughable narrative that Trump somehow was colluding with Vladimir Putin to steal the 2016 election. Clinton then sold it to an FBI agent, which overtly misled the FISA court to sustain an investigation of a sitting commander in chief.

"That probe imploded spectacularly, but not before it marred two full years of the Trump presidency. The implosion, remarkably, did not stop the left's pursuit."
