So-Called "Railway Safety Act" Constitutes a Political Handout to Big Labor That Does Nothing to Improve Safety At All

America as we know it was built largely upon and because of our rail industry, and today it remains a pillar of our economy.

Unfortunately, a destructive proposal before Congress misleadingly named the "Railway Safety Act" (RSA), part of broader surface transportation reauthorization, threatens great harm to our railroads.

Simply put, the bill has nothing to do with improving safety, but has a lot to do with advancing the political agenda of Big Labor.  At a moment when inflation burdens American families and fragile supply chains remain vulnerable to disruption, the last thing our economy or rail sector need is another costly federal mandate imposed upon one of the nation’s most important transportation sectors.

As an initial matter, as noted by The Wall Street Journal, the…[more]

Reporting On Newly Released Transcripts Exposing the Motivations of Intelligence Officials Who Signed the Letter Labeling Reporting on the Hunter Biden Laptop as a Potential 'Russian Information Operation':

"Newly released transcripts of interviews with with eight of the intelligence officials who were among 51 signatories of the infamous letter labeling reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop as a potential 'Russian information operation' show the letter drafters were motivated by politics while freely admitting they had no hard evidence for the claims.

"The transcripts, which include interviews with former CIA Director Michael Morell, one of his key former deputies Marc Polymeropoulos, and former CIA Director John Brennan, show the behind the scenes maneuverings to publish the infamous letter which then-candidate Joe Biden used to deflect accusations against him stemming from the material found on his son's laptop."

On the Rare and Surprising Public Apology by the IRS:

"This week, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) made a rare and surprising move by issuing an apology to billionaire Ken Griffin. The apology was in response to the agency's leak of sensitive information about a group of wealthy Americans, including Griffin. This unexpected act of contrition stands out, as the IRS is not known for admitting wrongdoings or extending apologies, despite its reputation for corruption and incompetency."

Reporting On 'Squad' Member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) Losing His Primary:

"Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D., N.Y.) became the first 'Squad' member to lose reelection, falling to Westchester County executive George Latimer in a race that largely centered on Bowman's intense hostility toward the Jewish state -- and Jewish voters in his district.

"Latimer led Bowman by 9 points with 51 percent of the vote reported when the Associated Press called the race just before 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

"Bowman's loss makes him the first member of the left-wing 'Squad' to lose reelection."

On the Presidential Debate and America's Fentanyl Crisis:

"Nothing proves that what goes around comes around like presidential debates. In their last meeting, Joe Biden gratuitously slammed Donald Trump for his Covid response. In their upcoming debate this Thursday, Trump should return the favor and remind viewers of the effects Biden's open-border policy has had on America's fentanyl crisis."

On Latino Battleground Voters and President Biden's Open Borders Policies:

"Turns out Latino voters don't behave like the caricatures that far-left Democrats created to justify their monstrous open-borders policies.

"Among battleground-state Latino voters, ex-prez Donald Trump and the GOP lead Joe Biden and the Democrats on who's more trusted on immigration, 41% to 38%.

"Hardly a shock: A new Siena poll shows that even in deep blue New York, 83% of all voters think the migrant influx to New York is a serious or somewhat serious issue; 91% of Latino voters feel the same way."

On Chevron Deference:

"When they are sworn in on Jan. 3, 2025, the 119th Congress will likely be the most powerful in four decades. That is because the Supreme Court is expected to issue an opinion this month that rebalances the separation of powers, reining in regulatory overreach of government agencies and returning that power to the legislative branch. Is Congress ready for this?

"At issue is a 40-year-old legal doctrine called Chevron deference, which essentially requires judges to put a thumb on the scales of justice in favor of government agencies' interpretations of rules and regulations. This has created an unconstitutional power imbalance that has taken away the responsibility of lawmaking from elected members of Congress and given it to unelected -- and often partisan -- federal bureaucrats."

On the Mainstream Media and Climate Change:

"There's a summer heat wave going on, which gives journalists the opportunity to fill up their stories with climate change boilerplate. It no longer matters whether any of it is true. Just the opposite, in fact. If you point out the truth, you're accused of being a denier.

Sure, the data doesn't show an increase in the number of heat waves, or hurricanes, or tornadoes, or wildfires. Yet every time one or the other strikes, the press robotically connects that event to 'climate change.'"

On When the FB Knew About Hunter Biden’s Nearly $120 Million Ukrainian Deal While Joe Biden Was VP:

"The FBI learned as far back as 2016 that Hunter Biden and his partners had plotted to set up a new venture in tax-friendly Liechtenstein that would be capitalized by a whopping $120 million investment from the controversial owner of the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings, according to documents obtained by Just the News that have been kept from the American public for eight years.

"The mega-deal was not referenced inside Hunter Biden's now infamous laptop or during the 2019 impeachment proceedings involving Ukraine, but was instead chronicled in a trove of 3.39 million documents the FBI seized from Hunter Biden and his business partners during an investigation of securities fraud nearly a decade ago."

On Bidenomics and Inflation:

"'History is largely a history of inflation,' Nobel-winning economist Friedrich Von Hayek wrote in 1960, 'usually inflations engineered by governments for the gain of government.'

Today, these words are truer than ever. During the almost four years we've lived with 'Bidenomics,' consumers have seen the cost of ordinary purchases increase by more than 15 percent due to inflation. That's an additional expense of $9,000 per year for the average household.

Reflecting on the past can often be illuminating. During the four years of the Trump administration, the Consumer Price Index saw a meager 1 percent increase. Critics may argue that the deflationary impact of COVID skews this figure, but even excluding it, the overall price level would have only risen by about 2.5 percent. What's the key difference? The answer is one word -- 'government!'"

Reporting on the Rising Theft of Electric Vehicle Charging Station Cables:

"Just before 2 a.m. on a chilly April night in Seattle, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup stopped at an electric vehicle charging station on the edge of a shopping center parking lot.

Two men, one with a light strapped to his head, got out. A security camera recorded them pulling out bolt cutters. One man snipped several charging cables; the other loaded them into the truck. In under 21/2 minutes, they were gone.

The scene that night has become part of a troubling pattern across the country: Thieves have been targeting EV charging stations, intent on stealing the cables, which contain copper wiring. The price of copper is near a record high on global markets, which means criminals stand to collect rising sums of cash from selling the material."
