Unfortunately, a destructive proposal before Congress misleadingly named the "Railway Safety Act" (RSA), part of broader surface transportation reauthorization, threatens great harm to our railroads.

Simply put, the bill has nothing to do with improving safety, but has a lot to do with advancing the political agenda of Big Labor.  At a moment when inflation burdens American families and fragile supply chains remain vulnerable to disruption, the last thing our economy or rail sector need is another costly federal mandate imposed upon one of the nation’s most important transportation sectors.

In a letter sent today to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz, a coalition of a dozen conservative and free-market organizations urged approval of Florida’s fiscal year 2025 Hospital Directed Payment Program (DPP).

Acknowledging support for the Trump Administration’s efforts to reduce fraud, tighten program integrity and implement work requirements for Medicaid, the letter explains that CMS has approved FY 2025 statewide hospital preprints in 45 other states, but more than 240 days have passed since Florida submitted its statewide preprint in May 2025 - an unprecedented delay.
